Our Editorial Standards

CryptoGrows is committed to the highest standards of journalistic integrity and transparency. This policy outlines how we source information, verify facts, disclose conflicts of interest, and correct errors. Our editorial decisions are guided by accuracy, independence, and our readers' need to understand the cryptocurrency industry.

Editorial Independence

Our editorial integrity is non-negotiable. We do not accept payment, sponsorship, or investment in exchange for favorable coverage.

  • No service provider, exchange, wallet, or blockchain project can pay for positive reviews or higher ratings.
  • Sponsored content is clearly labeled as "Sponsored" or "Partner Content" in a distinct section above the headline, visually separated from editorial coverage.
  • Our Editorial Team makes all rating and recommendation decisions independently. Business development, sales, and marketing teams have no input on content decisions or scores.
  • We decline partnership offers that include editorial control, exclusivity clauses, or editorial approval rights.
  • If a service provider disputes a rating or fact, we have a formal appeals process: they submit evidence with sources, we independently re-verify, and we publish our response.

Revenue comes from display advertising, newsletter sponsorships, and affiliate commissions on third-party services (like portfolio tools or exchange referrals). These relationships do not influence editorial decisions. Affiliate links are clearly marked with rel="sponsored".

Fact-Checking Process

Every claim we publish is checked against primary sources. Here is our standard process:

  1. Research & Source Collection -- Authors gather information from at least two independent sources. Primary sources (official white papers, regulatory filings, blockchain explorers) are preferred over secondary reporting.
  2. Verification by Second Editor -- A second team member (not the author) independently verifies key claims before publication. Complex technical claims are checked by a subject-matter expert.
  3. Citation & Footnotes -- All significant claims include a source link in footnotes. Readers can click through to verify.
  4. Technical Accuracy -- Articles about smart contracts, network mechanics, or protocol changes are reviewed by a developer or technical analyst.
  5. Statistical Accuracy -- Market data comes from verified APIs (CoinGecko, CoinMarketCap). We note when data is delayed, estimated, or preliminary.

Breaking news is published with a "developing story" notice and updated as information becomes available. Speculative claims are clearly marked as opinion or analysis, not fact.

Source Verification

We distinguish between primary, secondary, and tertiary sources and prioritize accordingly.

  • Primary Sources (Tier 1) -- Official white papers, regulatory filings (SEC, CFTC, FCA), blockchain explorers, official statements from project founders or teams, and third-party security audits from reputable firms.
  • Market Data (Tier 1) -- CoinGecko API, CoinMarketCap, official blockchain explorers, and historical exchange data.
  • Secondary Sources (Tier 2) -- Reports from established financial media (Bloomberg, Reuters, CoinDesk), academic research, and peer-reviewed studies.
  • Community & Sentiment (Tier 3) -- Reddit discussions, Twitter/X sentiment, governance forum discussions, and GitHub activity. Used for context only, never as primary evidence.

Rumors, unconfirmed leaks, or anonymous tips are never published as fact. We note them as "unverified reports" or "according to sources familiar with the matter" only after independent corroboration from at least one credible source.

Author Vetting & Credentials

All CryptoGrows authors and editors meet professional journalism standards.

  • Authors have either formal journalism training, a technical background in blockchain/cryptography, or a demonstrated track record in financial media.
  • Bylines include author bios and relevant background (e.g., "Alex is a former exchange trader with 8 years in crypto markets").
  • All authors and editors sign a conflict-of-interest disclosure form annually.
  • New contributors are reviewed by our Editorial Director before publication.
  • Guest authors are clearly identified as "Guest Contributor" and their affiliation disclosed.

Conflict-of-Interest Disclosure

Team members disclose any holdings, relationships, or financial interests that could bias their work.

  • Cryptocurrency Holdings -- Disclosed in author bios. Analysts who hold a coin they cover note it in bylines (e.g., "Full Disclosure: I hold BTC and ETH").
  • Employment & Consulting -- Any past or present employment with service providers, exchanges, or blockchain projects is disclosed above the article.
  • Cooling-Off Period -- Former employees of rated services can write reviews but must disclose their prior role. They step back from covering that organization for 12 months after departure.
  • Advisors & Board Observers -- Listed publicly on our About page with their affiliations.
  • Dissenting Views -- We welcome differing opinions among team members and publish rebuttals when reasonable.

Conflicts are not grounds for excluding an author -- transparency is. Readers deserve to know the author's perspective and interests.

Affiliate Disclosure

We include affiliate links on this site. These relationships do not influence our editorial decisions.

  • Affiliate links are clearly marked with an "(affiliate link)" label or rel="sponsored" tag.
  • We only recommend products and services we have personally tested and believe are valuable to our readers.
  • Affiliate revenue supports our platform. We disclose this openly in our footer.
  • If a service has an affiliate program, we use it -- but a lack of affiliate availability does not prevent coverage.

Corrections & Retractions

We stand by our work, but we also correct errors promptly and transparently.

  • Corrections are published within 24 hours of verification. A note is added to the article timestamp: "Correction (date): [what changed and why]".
  • Major factual errors that materially affect the conclusion may result in a retraction, published prominently at the top of the article.
  • Readers can submit corrections to [email protected] with evidence. We respond within 48 hours.
  • Archived versions of articles are available via our Internet Archive integration, so readers can see how information evolved.
  • We do not "memory hole" articles; corrections are visible to all readers.

AI Use Disclosure

We use artificial intelligence tools to assist in our editorial process. Here is our policy:

  • AI-Assisted Research -- We use AI to summarize documents, analyze data patterns, and suggest article outlines. AI does not replace human research or verification.
  • Drafting & Editing -- AI tools assist with initial drafts and editing suggestions. All final copy is written or reviewed by a human author before publication.
  • Fact-Checking -- AI is not used as a primary fact-checker. Humans verify all claims against primary sources.
  • Disclosure -- This page discloses our use of AI. We are transparent about our methods and tools.
  • No AI-Generated Articles -- We do not publish fully AI-generated articles without human review and byline.

AI assistance makes our team more efficient, but does not replace editorial judgment. Every article published under CryptoGrows is reviewed and approved by a human editor who takes responsibility for accuracy and editorial integrity.

Diversity & Viewpoints

We aim to represent multiple perspectives within our team and content.

  • Our team includes analysts bullish, bearish, and neutral on crypto markets.
  • We publish "red team" analyses challenging consensus views.
  • We cover underrepresented voices and emerging markets in crypto.
  • Disagreements between team members are resolved through editorial discussion, not editorial suppression.

Accessibility & Corrections Contacts

Our job is to inform, not to please. Independence is the only asset that matters in financial journalism. We are accountable to our readers, not to advertisers, sponsors, or service providers.
