Our methodology

How we test and rate

Each service is scored 0–10 across six independent criteria. We never accept paid placement — partnerships only affect whether we earn a commission on referrals, never the score itself.

Security

Custody, audits, cold-storage practices, incident history.

Fees

Trading, withdrawal, spreads, and hidden costs on real orders.

User experience

Onboarding, UI speed, mobile apps, and feature discoverability.

Features

Supported coins, trading tools, staking, derivatives, APIs.

Support

Response time, quality, live-chat availability, knowledge base.

Reputation

User reviews, regulatory standing, years in operation, transparency.

Independent crypto service ratings by Crypto Grows News

Crypto Grows News publishes transparent, hands-on ratings of cryptocurrency services — exchanges, wallets, DeFi protocols, exchangers, trading tools, and NFT/AI platforms. Our scores are never sponsored or auto-generated. Every review starts with an editor opening a real account, moving real funds, and measuring the service against six independent criteria.

What makes a great crypto service in 2026

Not every user needs the same service. A beginner looking to buy their first Bitcoin has different priorities than a DeFi power user managing liquidity positions across ten protocols. That is why our ratings always publish both the overall score and the per-criterion breakdown — so you can find the service that matches the factors that matter to you.

  • New users should prioritize User Experience and Support — clear onboarding, helpful docs, and fast customer service will save hours.
  • Frequent traders care most about Fees and Features — even a 0.1% fee difference adds up quickly at higher volumes.
  • Long-term holders should weight Security and Reputation — cold-storage practices, audit history, and regulatory standing matter most.
  • DeFi participants benefit from looking at Features and Security together — smart-contract audits, incident history, and chain coverage are the strongest differentiators.

How our scoring scale works

Every criterion is rated 0–10. The overall score is a weighted average, with Security carrying the largest weight for custody services and Features carrying the largest weight for trading tools. A score above 9.0 is exceptional and typically requires leadership in all six areas. A score between 7.5 and 8.5 represents a solid, recommended choice. Anything below 7.0 has meaningful drawbacks worth considering before committing funds.

Why our ratings are independent

We run an affiliate program because reviewing services costs time and money. However, our editorial and commercial teams are fully separated. Scores are decided before commercial discussions begin, and commercial partnerships are disclosed on every page that contains affiliate links. Non-partnered services regularly rank above partners when they perform better, and we maintain a public changelog for every score change.

Frequently asked

Frequently Asked Questions

How do you rate crypto services?
Every service is evaluated across six criteria: Security, Fees, User Experience, Features, Support, and Reputation. Each criterion receives an independent 0–10 score, and the weighted average becomes the overall rating. Our reviewers personally open accounts, move funds, and test support before publishing a score.
How often are ratings updated?
Core categories (Exchanges, Wallets, DeFi) are re-reviewed at least once per quarter. Major updates are published immediately whenever a service changes fees, launches a new product, or experiences a security incident. The "Recently Updated" strip on this page always shows the latest changes.
Are your ratings independent from affiliate deals?
Yes. Our editorial and commercial teams are separated. Affiliate partnerships affect only whether we can earn a commission from a referral — they never influence the score, ranking, or inclusion of a service. Non-affiliated services are regularly listed above partners when they perform better.
Do you review services that are not popular yet?
We prioritize services with meaningful user bases, but we also review promising newcomers once they cross basic thresholds (public team, audited contracts, 30+ days live). New services are clearly marked with a "New" badge until they accumulate enough data for a full quarterly review.
Can I suggest a service for review?
Absolutely. Reach out through our contact page with the service name, website, and a short note on why it deserves a review. We evaluate every submission and add qualifying services to our review backlog.
