FDUSD (First Digital) is Binance's preferred stablecoin alternative to USDT. Hong Kong-regulated by First Digital Trust, deep Binance integration, and growing Asian adoption. Small vs USDC/USDT but well-regulated for its size.
What FDUSD is
FDUSD is a fiat-backed stablecoin issued by First Digital Labs in Hong Kong. Backed by US Treasuries + cash held in regulated trust structures. Available on Ethereum + BNB Chain + Sui.
Why Binance backs it
FDUSD grew rapidly after Binance made it the primary stablecoin for BNB-paired zero-fee promotions. This gave it deep exchange integration and put it on the map as a top-5 stablecoin by circulation.
Concentration risk
FDUSD is heavily concentrated on Binance — most trading volume happens there. This creates a dependency on Binance's continued support that USDC/USDT don't have.
Verdict
FDUSD is a legitimate regulated stablecoin, but its trajectory depends heavily on Binance's ongoing support. Fine for Binance-native use; less versatile than USDC across the broader ecosystem.
