About Shiba Inu (SHIB)
What is Shiba Inu?
Shiba Inu (SHIB) is the largest meme-coin ecosystem after Dogecoin. The token launched in August 2020 by an anonymous developer who used the name Ryoshi. SHIB is an ERC-20 token issued on Ethereum, and the project markets itself as a community-driven experiment rather than a payment network. Shibarium uses BONE (the second token in the Shiba Inu trio) for gas. SHIB itself is a transferable asset on the chain.
A small portion of every Shibarium gas fee is used to buy back and burn SHIB on Ethereum. The burn rate from Shibarium activity is the closest thing the project has to a built-in supply sink. Adoption has been moderate — mostly NFT and meme-coin launches — but the chain has held up technically.
