Securitize Brings Mega-Cap Stocks On-Chain
Tokenization firm Securitize announced that tokenized shares of Apple, Nvidia and Tesla will first trade on its Solana-based platform. The company also plans to expand access through NYSE and additional digital trading venues.
Securitize is no stranger to public markets. It began trading on the New York Stock Exchange on July 2, 2026, under the ticker SECZ, after merging with a Cantor Fitzgerald-backed special purpose acquisition company. On its debut day it also tokenized roughly $295 million of its own common stock on Solana and Avalanche, according to RWA.xyz data.
Why Tokenization Is Gaining Momentum
The Securitize announcement arrives as analysts describe tokenization as a major growth theme. Research firm Citrini argues that tokenized stocks, bonds and loans could create new markets for trading and lending, with fee-generating platforms and companies positioned to benefit. In its view, the biggest winners may not be Bitcoin or Ether themselves.
For investors, the key questions are practical: who qualifies to buy these tokens, how custody works, and what ownership rights holders receive. The answers will decide whether tokenized mega-caps become a mainstream product or stay a niche offering.
US Government Moves Bitcoin Linked to the Bitfinex Hack
Separately, on-chain data from Arkham shows that the US government moved 12,267 BTC, worth about $1 billion, from a wallet tied to the 2016 Bitfinex hack. The coins went to unlabeled wallets rather than to an exchange, and there is no sign of a sale. The transfer came a day after $383 million in Bitcoin reached Coinbase Prime.
The 2016 hack involved roughly 119,754 BTC. Government wallet activity regularly makes headlines because traders fear that coins moving toward exchanges could signal selling pressure. A transfer between wallets, however, does not confirm a sale.
Market Backdrop
The news landed in a cautious market. Bitcoin traded near $81,800, down about 1.8% on the day, while Ether slipped nearly 4% to around $2,475. Sentiment is also shaped by the approaching anniversary of the October 10, 2025 flash crash, when Bitcoin fell from about $122,000 to $105,000 within hours.
What to Watch Next
For the Securitize story, watch for launch dates, eligibility rules and any regulatory clearance for NYSE-connected trading. For the government transfer, the signal to track is whether the moved coins arrive at an exchange. Until then, the move remains a wallet reshuffle rather than a market-moving sale.
