Quant Network (QNT) is a UK enterprise software company that builds connectivity between blockchains and the legacy systems banks already run. Gilbert Verdian founded the project in 2018 after spending years on cybersecurity for the UK NHS and HMRC and helping author the ISO/TC 307 blockchain standards. The QNT token launched in April 2018 through a small ICO and quietly grew into one of the more unusual mid-cap assets in crypto.
Quant is not a blockchain. That is the part that confuses most newcomers. The flagship product is Overledger, a gateway and API layer that lets a single application read from and write to many ledgers at once: Bitcoin, Ethereum, Hyperledger Fabric, Corda, JPM Coin Systems, Stellar, and the XRP Ledger, among others. QNT is the access token. Enterprises pay annual licence fees in fiat-equivalent QNT to use the gateway, and that QNT is locked for the duration of the licence.
QNT trades on Coinbase, Kraken, Binance, KuCoin, Bitfinex, and Gate, with the deepest pairs being QNT/USDT and QNT/USD. Live data on this page comes from a multi-venue feed and refreshes every 60 seconds. The reference quote is volume-weighted across the most liquid order books. One thing to know up front: QNT typically prints lower daily volume than its market cap suggests, which means moves in either direction can run further than they would on a more liquid name.

Overledger sits between an enterprise application and the ledgers it wants to use. A bank does not have to pick Ethereum or Corda or Hyperledger; it builds once against the Overledger API, and Quant handles the translation to each underlying network. The architecture is closer to middleware than to a blockchain, which is why Quant gets compared to Stripe or Twilio more often than to a layer-1.
The product line breaks down into a few distinct pieces:
Quant has run integrations and partnerships with Oracle (technical partnership announced in 2021), SIA (the Italian financial-services tech provider, since merged into Nexi), BondbloX in Singapore, and ScrumLaunch. The pattern is consistent: regulated counterparties that need to talk to several chains at once and do not want to manage that complexity in-house.
Total supply is 14,612,493 QNT. There is no inflation, no staking emission, and no future unlock schedule beyond what was already set at genesis. The number sits at the low end of the entire crypto market, and that scarcity is the headline feature most analysts focus on.
How QNT actually works inside the Quant business model:
The trade-off is honest. The model only works if Quant continues to sign and renew enterprise contracts. If commercial momentum stalls, the locked-supply story stalls with it. QNT is a bet on enterprise adoption, not a yield asset.
ISO 20022 is the global messaging standard that banks are migrating to for cross-border payments. The Bank of England, the ECB, and the US Federal Reserve are all on multi-year transition plans, and SWIFT has been running the rails since 2023. The crypto market started pairing certain tokens with the ISO 20022 narrative in 2022, and QNT has been at the centre of that conversation along with XRP and XLM.
Where Quant’s standards work is real rather than narrative: Gilbert Verdian co-founded ISO/TC 307, the ISO technical committee on blockchain and distributed ledger technology, and has chaired multiple working groups within it. Quant has also contributed to central-bank digital currency research, including pilots tied to the Bank of England digital pound programme. None of this guarantees that QNT becomes the settlement layer for ISO 20022 payments. It does mean the team has more standing in regulatory and standards bodies than almost any other crypto project.
Treat the ISO 20022 narrative cautiously. The technical link between the messaging standard and any specific token is loose. The link between Quant’s standards work and long-term institutional credibility is much stronger.
Both projects sell themselves as infrastructure for connecting blockchains, but they solve different problems. Chainlink is an oracle network: its core job is moving data between off-chain sources and on-chain smart contracts, with CCIP added later for cross-chain messaging. Quant is a gateway: its core job is letting a single application transact across multiple ledgers, including private enterprise chains.
They are not direct competitors most of the time. A bank could plausibly run Overledger to connect its internal systems to public chains and still rely on Chainlink for price oracles inside any DeFi-style smart contract it deploys.
QNT is listed on most major regulated exchanges, so the harder question is which venue gives you the cleanest fees and the safest custody afterwards. Most buyers go through five steps.
Always send a $1 test transaction the first time you withdraw to a new address. The gas cost is trivial; a misrouted five-figure transfer is not.
QNT carries a different risk profile from most large-cap crypto. The thesis depends on enterprise revenue rather than retail flow, which means the things that can break it are commercial, not technical.

At the time of writing, Quant (QNT) trades at $79.61, with a 24-hour trading volume of $17.47M and a total market capitalization of $1.16B. The asset is currently ranked #63 among all tracked cryptocurrencies by market cap.
Over the last 24 hours, the QNT price has rose +3.37%. On the seven-day chart, Quant has retraced +1.77%, showing mixed signals across the short and medium term. Short-term price swings are often amplified by liquidity conditions, news flow, and derivatives positioning, so traders should confirm signals across multiple indicators before acting.
Quant's all-time high of $427.42 was set on September 11, 2021. The current market price is +81.35% below that historical peak. Distance from the all-time high is a common reference point when evaluating long-term recoveries and identifying macro support or resistance levels.
Buying Quant (QNT) is straightforward once you know which exchange to use and which trading pair offers the best liquidity. The steps below describe the typical flow used by most investors today.
You can also use the built-in Quant converter above to estimate exactly how much QNT you would receive for a given amount in USD before placing an order.
Whether Quant is a good investment depends on your goals, time horizon, and tolerance for volatility. Like all cryptocurrencies, QNT carries significant market risk — prices can rise or fall sharply in a single day, and past performance is not a reliable indicator of future returns.
