Bitcoin ETF Streak Hits Day Seven as Solana Funds Notch a Record of Their Own
U.S. crypto markets are riding a wave of institutional confidence this week, with spot Bitcoin ETFs and Solana ETFs both posting standout inflow numbers that suggest real money — not just short-term speculation — is driving the current rally.
Bitcoin ETFs Log a Seventh Straight Day of Inflows
U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs pulled in $337.56 million on August 24, marking a seventh consecutive session of net inflows, according to data from SoSoValue. Ether funds weren't far behind, adding $115.57 million, while every listed crypto asset ETF drew fresh capital that day — including $33.49 million into Solana products and $13.82 million into XRP funds.
What makes this streak notable is what it signals about the nature of the rally. Bitcoin's initial break above $69,000 last week was fueled in part by a roughly $3 billion short squeeze — forced buying from traders closing losing bets, a dynamic that fades once the shorts are cleared out. Seven straight days of ETF inflows, totaling more than $2.5 billion, points to something more durable: institutional demand that's chasing the trend on its own merits rather than just short-sellers scrambling to cover.
The scale of that demand shows up in the numbers. Total Bitcoin ETF assets have climbed to $98.56 billion, up from $78.67 billion just a week earlier, tracking both the fresh inflows and Bitcoin's price appreciation. With BTC now trading above $80,000 for the first time since May, analysts are watching closely to see whether the buying continues at this pace or whether overbought conditions trigger a pullback.
Solana ETFs Extend Their Own Winning Run to Five Days
Solana ETFs are having a parallel moment. Monday's $33.5 million inflow was the largest single-day haul for Solana funds since December, and it extended their winning streak to five consecutive trading days. That pushed cumulative net inflows into Solana ETFs to a record $1.22 billion, with daily trading volume reaching $166.8 million — among the strongest readings of the year for the sector.
The inflows came alongside a sharp move in SOL's price, which jumped as the broader altcoin market caught a bid on the back of Bitcoin's strength. Solana's momentum has been reinforced by network-level developments as well, with validators currently weighing proposals that would slow new token issuance and significantly increase daily fee burns — changes that could tighten SOL's supply dynamics going forward.
What It Means for the Market
Together, these two inflow streaks tell a consistent story: after a volatile stretch earlier in the year, U.S. institutional investors are re-engaging with crypto through regulated ETF products, and they're doing so across multiple assets rather than concentrating purely on Bitcoin. Whether this broadening participation can sustain the rally past the $80,000 mark for Bitcoin — and keep Solana's five-day streak alive — will be the key test for the market in the sessions ahead.
