BitMart Token (BMX) is the native utility token of BitMart Exchange, a global cryptocurrency exchange founded in 2017 and headquartered in the Cayman Islands. BitMart lists over 1,500 trading pairs across spot, futures, and margin markets and serves users in more than 180 countries. BMX launched to give platform users a way to reduce trading fees, access exclusive project launches, and earn enhanced yield on the BitMart Earn platform.
BMX runs on the Ethereum network as an ERC-20 token with a fixed total supply. It follows a classic exchange-token model: fee discounts for holders, launchpad access gated by BMX holdings, staking rewards, and a periodic buyback-and-burn program funded from exchange revenue. BMX is not listed on competing top-tier exchanges, which is typical for exchange-native tokens.
BMX trades primarily on BitMart itself and on secondary venues including Gate and Uniswap. Live price on this page aggregates across the deepest BMX/USDT order books and refreshes every 60 seconds.

BMX serves several overlapping roles across the BitMart platform. The most direct use case is fee reduction — BMX holders pay lower spot and futures trading fees depending on their tier.

In December 2021, BitMart suffered one of the largest exchange hacks on record when approximately $196 million in assets were drained from hot wallets via a compromised private key. BitMart CEO Sheldon Xia committed to compensate affected users out of company funds, and the exchange remained operational throughout the incident. The hack has been a persistent overhang on BMX valuation and exchange trust scores.
BitMart's subsequent security disclosures described upgrades to wallet architecture, cold storage ratios, and withdrawal safeguards. Despite the hack, BitMart has continued to grow its trading pair count and user base in emerging markets, particularly in Asia, Africa, and Latin America.
BMX has a fixed maximum supply set at 1 billion tokens. The initial distribution covered team, ecosystem development, community incentives, and an investor tranche. Periodic burn events have reduced circulating supply since launch, with each burn funded by a portion of trading fee revenue.
BMX is most liquid on BitMart itself. Secondary access is available on Gate and through Uniswap for ERC-20 BMX. Fiat on-ramps are available on BitMart for most regions.

BMX concentration risk is high. Nearly all demand depends on BitMart's platform volume, reputation, and continued operation.

Whether BitMart is a good investment depends on your goals, time horizon, and tolerance for volatility. Like all cryptocurrencies, BMX carries significant market risk — prices can rise or fall sharply in a single day, and past performance is not a reliable indicator of future returns.
