DeepBook is the first native central limit order book (CLOB) built directly on the Sui blockchain. Mysten Labs co-developed the protocol as a shared on-chain primitive — any Sui application, from spot DEXs to perpetuals platforms, can route liquidity through the same order book rather than each team bootstrapping its own pools. The DEEP token launched in late 2024 to power governance and fee discounts across the protocol.
Unlike an automated market maker, DeepBook matches discrete buy and sell orders at exact prices, giving traders the tight spreads and price discovery they expect from a CEX. The settlement layer is Sui’s object model, which enables sub-second finality at low gas. For the base layer, see our Sui page.
DEEP trades primarily against USDC and SUI on Sui-native venues. The token is still in price discovery; most of its history is from the 2024-2025 period following the airdrop and public listing. Live data on this page refreshes every 60 seconds from a volume-weighted feed across the main order books.

DeepBook implements a shared order book as a Sui Move object. Any Sui dApp can call into it using public Move functions — place order, cancel order, fill order — without deploying its own matching logic. The design turns DeepBook into a liquidity aggregation layer for the whole Sui ecosystem.

DeepBook v3 introduced self-funded pools, stability pools, and tighter integration with the Sui bridge ecosystem. Future versions are expected to expand to perpetuals and options matching via the same shared book infrastructure.
DEEP has a fixed maximum supply. The allocation was designed to bootstrap both liquidity and governance: a large share went to ecosystem incentives and airdrops targeting early Sui DeFi participants, with the rest split between the team, investors, and a community treasury. Token utility is primarily fee discounts on DeepBook trades and governance voting on protocol parameters.
The token has no inflation mechanism beyond the original fixed schedule. Once all tokens are fully vested, the only new DEEP entering circulation comes from programmatic incentive distributions already locked in the smart contract.
The core design difference is order type. Uniswap, Curve, and most EVM DEXs use AMM models where price is determined by a formula applied to pool reserves. DeepBook is a CLOB where traders set explicit limit prices. Each model has a different user profile.

The core promise of DeepBook is that other teams build on top of it rather than beside it. Several Sui-native projects have integrated DeepBook as their primary execution venue, including spot DEX frontends, liquidity aggregators, and portfolio management apps. This creates a flywheel: more integrators bring more order flow, which attracts more market makers, which tightens spreads, which makes the platform more attractive to integrators.
The Sui Foundation has supported DeepBook grants to teams building market-making bots, analytics dashboards, and cross-chain bridges that route liquidity through the order book. Institutional market makers active on Sui CEX derivatives have also started deploying capital on-chain through DeepBook, which has improved book depth on the major pairs.
DEEP is primarily a Sui ecosystem token. Here is how to acquire it:
DEEP liquidity outside the Sui ecosystem is limited. Use a bridge only if you know the bridge security model and have confirmed wrapped DEEP is supported on the destination chain.
DEEP is a small-cap token in an ecosystem that is still building critical mass. The risk profile is skewed higher than for large-cap assets.

At the time of writing, DeepBook (DEEP) trades at $0.033246, with a 24-hour trading volume of $5.98M and a total market capitalization of $83.18M. The asset is currently ranked #337 among all tracked cryptocurrencies by market cap.
Over the last 24 hours, the DEEP price has rose +3.50%. On the seven-day chart, DeepBook has climbed +0.90%, showing consistent upward momentum across both timeframes. Short-term price swings are often amplified by liquidity conditions, news flow, and derivatives positioning, so traders should confirm signals across multiple indicators before acting.
DeepBook's all-time high of $0.341085 was set on January 18, 2025. The current market price is +90.26% below that historical peak. Distance from the all-time high is a common reference point when evaluating long-term recoveries and identifying macro support or resistance levels.
Buying DeepBook (DEEP) is straightforward once you know which exchange to use and which trading pair offers the best liquidity. The steps below describe the typical flow used by most investors today.
You can also use the built-in DeepBook converter above to estimate exactly how much DEEP you would receive for a given amount in USD before placing an order.
Whether DeepBook is a good investment depends on your goals, time horizon, and tolerance for volatility. Like all cryptocurrencies, DEEP carries significant market risk — prices can rise or fall sharply in a single day, and past performance is not a reliable indicator of future returns.
